2011 IGDA SCHOLARSHIP for CEDEC

■Mission

IGDA and IGDA Japan chapter have anounced that we will look for scholars to brilliant students who will be a good developer in game industry in CEDEC (Computer Entertainment Developers Conference) 2011, videogame technical conference.

CEDEC is the most largest videogame technology conference. It is very suitable for students to communicate with professional develiopers. We would like students to have much excitement there.

■Privilege

All scholars will be provided a regular pass in CEDEC 2011.
They will be able to join the studio tour for several conpanies in Tokyo. They will be able to see inside studio, comunication and discussion with developers.
They will be served by menters, who are game developers, and make private connections.

Please note that all expenses, including registration fees, airfare, lodging, ground transportation, chikets of social gathering (split the bill) , and insurance in Japan, will be the scholar’s responsibility.

Apply for IGDA Scholarship

If you are a student and you meet the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for the IGDA Scholarship:

・You must speak either Japanese or English
Most of lecture will be spoken in Japanese in CEDEC. There are some English speaker's and from Japanese to English interpriting sesions.

・You  must be a full-time college (or similar) student and must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of the event.

・You must have a passion of entering Japanese videogame industry.

Please note that the cutoff date for applications is July 28th.[1st deadline] and August 13th.[2nd deadline]. There is no following recruitments if the applicant reaches the fixed number at the first deadline.

■We need menters!

IGDA Japan chapter are looking for industry veterans to volunteer some time to serve as a mentor to a IGDA Student Scholarship recipient. We hope you will spend some time with scholars, and answer questions of game development, provide career advice, introduce them to your industry friends, and just generally make the scholar's experience more valuable.

Here's what you'd need to commit to: Spend at least 1-hour each day (September 5 to 8) with students.
