IGDA Scholarship: CEDEC & Tokyo Game Show


**Overview
International Game Developers Association provides scholarship programs for major gaming events around the globe, such as Game Developers Conference (GDC) or E3, to assist various people to attend the events.

And in Japan, we are pleased to introduce a scholarship program for CEDEC (Computer Entertainment Developers Conference) and Tokyo Game Show (TGS). We would like to show our gratitude to Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. for sponsoring the program.

IGDA Japan calls for applications for the program ,with IGDA's help, then select the final participants. The participants will then receive either a CEDEC regular pass or Tokyo Game Show Business Day Ticket for free. and we will also have a studios-tour during the period.

CEDEC is Japan's biggest conference for game develoers, and Tokyo Game Show is one of the biggest Game show events in Asia. We sincerely hope that the participants will find the events and the time with other participants fruitful.

**Schedule 1: CEDEC
19th August (Sun)  Studio Tour / Convivial Gathering
20th August (Mon)  Attend CEDEC
21st August (Tue)  Attend CEDEC
22nd August (Wed)  Attend CEDEC

**Schedule 2: Tokyo Game Show
19th September (Wed)  Studio Tour / Convivial Gathering
20th September (Thu)  Attend Tokyo Game Show (Business day)
21st September (Fri)  Attend Tokyo Game Show (Business day) & "Sense of Wonder Night"

**参加特典
Either a CEDEC Regular pass or a Tokyo Game Show business day ticket will be provided
You will visit Game studios in Tokyo area and actually see inside of the studios in action, and then discuss with the professional developers.
Also a mentor will be assigned to participants during the period. A great opportunity to know a real professional in person.

**How many students are participating?
Six participants for each event, total twelve students.
(No fixed seats for any specific country/region)


**Notes:
-Please do not apply for both events. (One event per person)
-Associated cost such as traffic fee, accomodation, meals and will NOT be covered in this program.
-There is a possibility where the Studios Tour be cancelled, in such case, however, we will still provide the conference pass/business day ticket.

========How To Apply============
Prerequisite:

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

Speaks Japanese or English
(Lectures will be in Japanese, though there will be several sessions in English /with simatanious interpretation)

18 years old or older, and vocational school, college, or post graduate student

Fully interested in working in Japanese game industry.

IGDA Student member.

**Mentors wanted!

IGDA Japan is currently looking for game industry professionals who wish to mentor the students. The mentors will accompany the students during the period, answer questions from them, provide career advice, or introduce other professionals to provide the students with most exciting and fruitful experience during the event.

Please note that mentors need to accompany the students at least one day (one hour) during the event (For CEDEC, 19th to 22th August/For TGS, 19th to 21st September).
